![]() ![]() Server is running on the same server, type 127.0.0.1 ġ) After I did all of this the users/PCs which connected to the server got a Temporary RDS Per Device CAL (check the picture) and their duration is about 90 days if I remember right. Use the specified Remote Desktop license servers – enable the policy and specify the RDS Remote Desktop Services -> Remote Desktop Session Host -> Licensing. ![]() Go to ComputerĬonfiguration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Suppose, the server is not in the domain. ![]() Server\RCM\Licensing Core change the value of the DWORD parameter with theĢ – if Per Device RDS licensing mode is used - I used this oneĢ) You can also configure the RDS license server parameters using GPO Registry key HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal The reason for Per Device CALs is because as I read it only can be Per Device in a Workgroup? Here is how I did all this: The current server I configured to also be the Licensing serverīecause of it being in a Workgroup, and I configured it to use the Per Device CALs. This might be too much information but I just wanted to be as helpful as I can. When they connect over RDS just one folder/window opens with it having shortcuts to few MS Access applications which they can use, so they do not have access over the whole Windows environment. On the server are 20 user accounts (not counting the administrator), so each user which connects over RDS is set to automatically log-in in one of the user accounts (everyone is accessing its own user account on the server). All of them are in a workgroup, so its a Workgroup environment. The environment Im dealing with is as follows:Īnd lets say about 20 users with each having its own PC which accesses the server over RDS. Its my first time posting here and I do not have much experience with the servers, so be gentle please :) I saw and read may threads with similar title, however, its still confusing for me and I would like to describe my situation and see whats the best solution for it. ![]()
